Guidelines for Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, Peoria AZ

Here is an article at azcentral.com. Peoria has started to agree on some of the regulations for the medical marijuana dispensaries.
  • Allowed in areas zoned for commercial use
  • Cultivation sites limited to industrial areas
  • Both would have to be 1/2 mile from each other
  • Both would have to be 1,000 feet from schools and day-care facilities
  • Both would have to be 500 feet from homes
  • Dispensaries also would have to be 1,000 feet from retail liquor stores, bars, and substance-abuse treatment centers
  • No marijuana smoking within 50 feet of an entrance to a public place, within 50 feet of parks with playground areas including skate parks. That would include parks run by homeowner associations, and areas at licensed adult daycare and child-care facilities.
Some of the other items of issue is what is "public"? The sidewalks, HOA areas, etc. If someone has the a medical marijuana card should they be allowed to smoke around those who do not? What about people who live in apartments?

Personally, I am allergic to tobacco smoke and would not want me or my daughter around someone smoking marijuana. I should have that right as a citizen to be free from things that could harm me or my child. Just like with the new law, these people are allowed to smoke it, they should do it in the privacy of their own home. They should not be allowed to subject innocent people to it (and by innocent I mean people who do not want the second-hand smoke)

What do you think?
